Related services help children with disabilities benefit from their special education by providing extra help and support in needed areas. Any related service or support that helps a student to benefit from or achieve the goals set out in his or her individualized education program (IEP) should be provided by the appropriate related services personnel. Special education and related services are intended to be flexible and should be matched to the needs of the student.
